Entrepreneurship, Healing, and the Courage to Begin
One year after founding Empowered InSight, I am reflecting on more than the launch of a business. I am reflecting on courage, healing, discomfort, visibility, grief, resilience, purpose, and transformation.
Empowered InSight was born when the pain of staying in my comfort zone became greater than the risk of taking a leap of faith. For many years, I worked within corporate structures, solving problems, supporting others, and contributing to environments that shaped my professional experience. Yet beneath all of that, I knew there was a deeper calling within me.
One year ago, I chose to listen.
This June 2026, I celebrate the first anniversary of founding Empowered InSight. It is a celebration of the business, but it is also a celebration of the woman I had to become in order to bring it to life.
The Leap That Started Empowered InSight
Starting a business is often spoken about in practical terms. Strategy, branding, clients, invoices, marketing, systems, networking, and growth all matter. They are real. They are necessary. They are part of the journey.
But for me, entrepreneurship has also been deeply spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical. It has asked me to face myself in ways I could not avoid. It has shown me where I was brave, where I was afraid, where I was still carrying pain, and where I had far more strength than I realized.
Empowered InSight did not begin as a polished business idea. It began as an inner knowing. It began with the quiet, persistent truth that I could no longer stay where I was simply because it felt familiar.
Leaving the Comfort Zone
The comfort zone can be deceptive. It can look safe from the outside, while quietly asking us to abandon parts of ourselves on the inside.
For me, staying where I was had become more painful than stepping into uncertainty. That was the moment Empowered InSight began to take shape. Not only as a business, but as a container for the work I felt called to offer.
It became a space for individuals, entrepreneurs, business owners, creatives, and teams to reconnect with their own clarity, gifts, patterns, purpose, and medicine.
Building More Than a Business
This first year has taught me that entrepreneurship is never only about what we build externally. It is also about what we are willing to meet internally.
Every decision, every client session, every investment, every quiet doubt, every moment of visibility, and every step forward became part of my growth. I had to learn to trust the process, even when the path felt uncertain. I had to keep showing up, even when I did not feel ready. I had to believe that the work I offer has value, even during the moments when self doubt tried to convince me otherwise.
Entrepreneurship as a Journey of Inner Growth
Entrepreneurship became a powerful teacher. It reflected the parts of me I had avoided, the shadows I needed to face, and the resilience I did not know I had.
The message behind Michael Jackson’s Man in the Mirror has stayed with me throughout this journey. Real transformation begins with ourselves. Entrepreneurship asks for that same level of honesty. It asks for authenticity, consistency, courage, and the willingness not to give up on ourselves or our dreams, even when the process feels uncomfortable.
That is also what Empowered InSight means to me. I do not hold all the solutions for my clients. I hold space. I hold reflection. I help them see themselves more clearly, so they can uncover their own wisdom and medicine.
Ironically, that is exactly what Empowered InSight has done for me. It has empowered me through my own insights. It has shown me that building a business is not separate from healing. It is part of it.
The First Year, What It Asked of Me
This first year has been both a celebration and a reckoning.
There were moments of deep joy. I saw clients transform. I watched people reconnect with themselves. I experienced the privilege of witnessing insight unfold in real time. I also watched my children see their mother create something from nothing, and that has been one of the most meaningful parts of this journey.
There were also moments of despair. Moments where my Enneagram 4, the Intense Creative, pulled me into shadow. Moments where I questioned whether I could keep going. Moments where I sat on the kitchen floor crying, wondering if I had made the worst decision of my life.
The Joy of Creating Something From Nothing
There is something sacred about bringing a vision into form. Empowered InSight started as an inner calling, but over the past year it has become a real business, a real workspace, a real offering, and a real source of transformation for others.
Every client conversation, every connection, every invoice, every event, every learning experience, and every brave step into visibility has reminded me that this work matters.
It matters because people are longing to be seen clearly. It matters because many people are carrying patterns they do not yet understand. It matters because insight can become a turning point when it is held in a safe, compassionate, and practical way.
The Reckoning Behind the Celebration
Celebration does not mean the journey was easy. It means the journey was meaningful.
Losing two brothers to suicide had already carved grief deeply into my life. So when moments of hopelessness surfaced during this first year, they did not feel foreign. They felt familiar. They felt connected to old pain, inherited patterns, and the emotional depths I had already known.
But here is the truth I returned to again and again. The healer often walks through the depths of their own pain and returns with medicine.
My medicine was waiting for me in those depths. It was waiting in the spirals, in the tears, in the doubt, in the fear, and in the moments where I had to choose life, presence, and purpose again.
The Healing Work Behind the Business
My healing journey has not been separate from Empowered InSight. It has been woven into the foundation of the business itself.
My Enneagram journey helped me see patterns I had avoided. It helped me understand my emotional intensity, my creative depth, my longing for authenticity, and the ways I could become caught in shadow when fear or doubt took over.
My children anchored me in reality when part of me wanted to escape. They reminded me of presence, responsibility, love, and the beauty of ordinary life. They reminded me why building something meaningful matters.
My body and emotion code work revealed generational trauma and trapped emotions that needed release. It helped me understand that the body carries what the mind may try to explain away. It helped me reconnect with the deeper layers of healing that cannot always be accessed through logic alone.
Learning to Trust My Intuition
As I channeled for clients and witnessed the hope that returned to them through insight, I began to trust my intuition more deeply. Seeing transformation in others helped me refine my ability to listen within myself.
That was one of the unexpected gifts of this year. The very work I offered to others became part of my own healing. Every client session reminded me that insight is not abstract. It is alive. It moves through the body, the emotions, the mind, the spirit, and the choices we make every day.
Bringing Light to the Unconscious
Carl Jung’s work speaks powerfully to the importance of making the unconscious conscious. That truth has shaped my understanding of entrepreneurship.
This journey has brought light to unconscious patterns, old fears, hidden grief, creative longing, and the parts of myself that needed compassion rather than avoidance.
It is also the vision of Empowered InSight. To be a container where others can bring light to what has been unseen. To help people understand the patterns that shape their lives, their leadership, their relationships, their business decisions, and their sense of purpose.
The Tangible Milestones of Year One
Alongside the emotional and spiritual work, this year also brought tangible milestones that I am proud to honor.
I invested in and brought to life my dream workspace.
I generated 47 invoices, each one representing trust, service, and exchange.
I made more than 50 new aligned connections that feel like soul level collaborations.
I joined BNI, stepping into greater community, visibility, and business growth.
I became an accredited Enneagram practitioner, deepening my craft and expanding the value I can offer.
I attended and invested in the sporting and school events of my beautiful children, with my own permission and on my own terms.
These milestones matter because they represent more than business activity. They represent courage. They represent consistency. They represent the decision to keep building, even while healing. They represent the integration of purpose, motherhood, entrepreneurship, and self trust.
My Reflection After One Year
The first year of entrepreneurship has been raw, messy, beautiful, confronting, and profoundly human.
It has taught me that integrating both light and shadow creates space for acceptance and healing. It has taught me that pain and joy can exist in the same story. It has taught me that resilience is not always loud. Sometimes resilience is simply choosing to stand up again after crying on the kitchen floor.
This year has shown me that entrepreneurship is not only about success as the outside world defines it. It is about alignment. It is about self trust. It is about creating a life and business that reflect who you truly are.
Today, I celebrate not only surviving year one, but transforming pain and joy into purpose.
Because everyone has their own unique medicine. Mine is to walk through the fire, return with insight, and remind others that authenticity, even in the darkest moments, is a victory.
